Pronouns are the words which can replace other words: the nouns, the adjectives, the numerals. Function of the pronouns in a sentence depends on which particular words they replace, whether they are applied instead of a noun, an adjective etc. The pronoun can serve as a subject, object, attribute etc.

Борис - студент. Он изучает русский язык. Я познакомился с ним на вечере.
Некоторые студенты были на экскурсии.

Pronouns are changeable. Changeable pronouns fall into two groups 1) Personal, reflexive, interrogative (who?, what?) have their own endings. 2) Other pronouns have endings dependable on forms of gender, number, declension of the nouns.

1. Personal	я, ты, мы, вы, он, она, оно, они.
2. Interrogative	кто, что, какой, чей, сколько, который
3. Reflexive	себя
4. Possessive	мой, твой, наш, его, её, их, свой
5. Demonstrative	этот, эта, это, эти, тот, та, те, такой, такая, такое, такие
6. Definitive	каждый, весь, вся, всё, все
7. Negative	никто, ничто, никакой, ничей
8. Indefinite	кто-то, что-то, что-нибудь, какой-нибудь
